History

 

The Laboratory of Studies on Politics, Elections and Media – LEPEM – was approved by the Department of Social Sciences in June 2004. The Laboratory congregates professors and students who research the dynamic of political and electoral processes in Brazil, especially in Ceará. Initially coordinated by professors Rejane Carvalho and Auxiliadora Lemenhe, the laboratory was reorganized in 2012 and now professor Rejane Carvalho is the president of LEPEM's Deliberative Council and professor Valmir Lopes is its executive coordinator.
